PLANT GENERATED LONGWAVE RADIATION

Example Type:
Natural Occurrence

Information:
Location:
Record Date: 03.22
Season: Winter
Elevation: 6600 Feet

Notes:
Everything gives off longwave radiation. You do. Animals do. Even plants do. It's not something you can see with your eyes or even feel as heat. These examples show plants in the snow that give off longwave radiation. The radiation then melts the snow right next to the plant. It's not that these little plants give off loads of energy, it is just enough to melt the snow.
