SATELLITE DISH

Example Type:
Manmade Tool

Information:
Location: Various

Notes:
This is a good example of how man uses the electromagnetic spectrum to communicate. There are satellites in orbit around the Earth and we are able to control them and transmit information with satellite dishes on the surface. The first image shows a very small dish designed to receive strong signals from satellites in orbit. The lower image shows the 70-meter dish from NASA's Deep Space Network.
